About this event

Our students need social and emotional learning – the ability to reflect on and understand their social and emotional lives.  Thoughtful teachers and curricula can help students accomplish this.  In order to do that, teachers need to become more aware of their own social and emotional currents.  When we understand our own emotional dynamics, we become better instructors for our students.  This one-day focus on social and emotional learning will introduce you to SEL content and programs for students and teachers. You will walk out of this professional development course with tools for understanding your own emotional journey as a teacher, as well as with familiarity with a variety of K-12 SEL programs and approaches, as well as the tools to appraise their value for your classroom.
